Over the past few days our team has been working with the top rapid response security firm in the country to fully audit Gab’s infrastructure to get a better picture of what happened, what specifically was accessed, and why.
Over the weekend we received word that we had been subject to a hack that would be published by a third-party nonprofit organization, Distributed Denial of Secrets (DDS), which the Department of Homeland Security has described as “criminal hackers.”
Earlier this month I appeared on Steve Bannon’s War Room to discuss the topic of transhumanism. In the simplest terms transhumanists believe in using technology to transcend beyond the limitations of human biology into a post-human existence.
This is something we are all familiar with on a surface level thanks to many different movies and TV shows over the years, but it’s time to start taking it seriously as a threat to humanity itself.
Today we received an inquiry from reporters about an alleged data breach. We have searched high and low for chatter on the breach on the Internet and can find nothing. We can only presume the reporters, who write for a publication that has written many hit pieces on Gab in the past, are in direct contact with the hacker and are essentially assisting the hacker in his efforts to smear our business and hurt you, our users.
Gab has been banned from three different banks over the course of the past three weeks. We operate a legal US business. We sell a software license to our GabPRO service along with hats, shirts, mugs, and other merchandise. The latest bank told us they are terminating our account because “the media has written bad things about your business.”
At 6:09pm EST Gab became aware of several accounts that were posting bitcoin wallet spam and related content. At 6:25pm out of an abundance of caution we brought the site offline in order to immediately assess the situation, solve the problem, and get Gab back online as soon as possible. Because of our quick action zero bitcoin was sent to any of the addresses posted and the affected accounts have been secured.
The problem with the American Populist movement is that it was centralized.
Centralized movements give the enemy a central attack vector to target and overcome. One man, who took on the weight of the world, became the sole focus of both the enemy and of the American Populist movement itself for over five years.
Over the course of the past week Gab has been deplatformed by one of our banks, a business we were working with to source new server hardware, third-party infrastructure analysis software, and even our accountant.
To my friends, family, and neighbors in Scranton, PA and the NEPA area,
My name is Andrew Torba and I’m the Founder and CEO of Gab.com. I was born and raised in NEPA. I attended Old Forge elementary in grade school and later moved to Moosic to attend Riverside High School. As many of you will know, Riverside and Old Forge have the biggest rivalry in high school football spanning back decades so with that said: GO VIKES!
I know many of you voted for Joe Biden, including members of my own family, and that’s okay. In my humble opinion Joe Biden is someone who left our area at a very young age and only ever seems to come back when it’s time to fundraise.
Just kidding. ?
Federal law enforcement today advised the AP that there was significant activity on Twitter directed towards the organization of the Capitol Hill riots. Twitter was also the place where a man was using coded language to sell child porn according to news reports this week.
The Washington Post reported a mountain of evidence was discovered of the organization the happened on Facebook for the January 6th protests. Facebook’s Chief Operation Officer, Sharyl Sandberg, deflected the blame to you guessed it: Gab.
The New York Times at first wrongfully and baselessly reported that Gab and Parler were to blame, but has since amended that position after new evidence surfaced about Facebook’s role in what happened on January 6th.

The legacy press and activist groups such as the Anti-Defamation League, each also blamed two challenger sites – Gab and Parler – rather than the big sites like Twitter and Facebook where rioters actually planned their activities.

The reality of app store bans is and always has been that Big Tech moderation policies are selectively applied. Big Tech responds not to reality but to the demands of far-left activists who clog the proverbial phone lines of Apple and Google every time a handful of offensive or illegal posts appears on our sites, while ignoring when hundreds of thousands of illegal or offensive posts appears on theirs.
We are documenting millions of illegal posts in our Liberal Hate Machine project which shows just how much hatred and bile is spewed on Twitter, one of our most major competitors. We have been collecting and analyzing over 100 million tweets in the replies section of President Trump’s Twitter account for about a year. We applied sentiment analysis to detect violent and hateful replies. Wait until you see what we found.
It’s interesting that Twitter remains online and has access to App Stores and Gab does not. The reason is clear: Big Tech has no principles other than its desire to serve the interests of the radical left and the Democratic Party. They can’t say it out loud so they say it with their actions.
With the Democrats in control of the government, regulation of Big Tech is not the answer. Begging Apple and Google for access is not the answer.
The only way we can beat Big Tech is to build an internet of our own – and financial system of our own – where Big Tech has no power. Conservatives and freedom-loving people everywhere must vote with their feet and join the millions of people who are getting on Gab.
